Terms & Conditions

Dog Walking

The client agrees to provide full and honest information to Waggy Walkies in relation to their pet's behaviour and overall health during the initial booking process. Behaviour which may negatively impact employees of Waggy Walkies should be disclosed in Section 5 of the Dog Walking Contract at the time of booking. These include but are not limited to excessive barking, aggression, incontinence, separation anxiety, destructive behaviour, straying and phobias. In addition, it is a requirement for clients to share with us any known health condition/concerns during the initial booking process.

Should your dog’s behaviour or health change between the booking process and the date in which the service commences, it is the client's full responsibility to update Waggy Walkies with these changes.

The client agrees to provide keys or arrange access for the appointment if they are absent; failure to do so will result in cancellation of the walk and must still be paid in full by the client. The client agrees that by providing temporary access to their property, such as leaving a key in a safe place, Waggy Walkies cannot be held liable for any loss or damage to the property or its contents as a result.

The client agrees that bookings must be made by end of day on the Thursday for the week commencing on the following Monday, otherwise a space may not be available. Waggy Walkies offers the client two payment options; (1) full payment can be made upon booking prior to the service commencing, or (2) full payment can be made at the end of the working week. If the client would prefer (2), to pay at the end of the working week, full payment must be made by 6pm on Friday. If a payment is late, or has been missed, a non-disputable £5 late payment fee will be charged to the total invoice, unless deemed an emergency. Waggy Walkies also reserves the right to terminate future services with the client until the payment has been settled. Once the client has made their bookings for the week commencing, the appointment slot will be secured. Therefore, should the client need to cancel any bookings once the appointment(s) have been made, a charge of 50% of the total service cost will be applied to the invoice. Should the client cancel within 24 hours of the service commencing, the entire service cost will still be charged due to insufficient notice. Waggy Walkies operate on a first come, first serve basis, therefore Ad Hoc clients are recommended to give as much notice as possible in order to ensure availability. Waggy Walkies will make every effort to give you an estimated time slot for the walk, however agreed times cannot be guaranteed due to frequent unprecedented circumstances that may arise. The client agrees to inform Waggy Walkies of any pre-booked holidays which may interfere with their regular bookings with as much notice as possible.

Waggy Walkies reserves the right to refuse acceptance of any dog deemed in their discretion to be, or have potential to be, disruptive and/or dangerous. Waggy Walkies reserves the right to return the client’s dog(s) home in the event of the dog(s) displaying unwanted behaviour such as injuring another dog or person, or causing damage to public property. In addition, Waggy Walkies reserves the right to choose a more appropriate walk for your dog(s) - i.e. walking the client’s dog individually as opposed to a group walk if it is deemed safer to do so.

Waggy Walkies allow bitches on dog walks whilst in season or pregnant, however they will be kept on the lead at all times. The bitch will only be walked solo or in a small group of the same sex. If an appropriate group walk for the bitch is not available, the price for a solo walk service will be charged instead. It is the client’s responsibility to inform Waggy Walkies prior to the walk if they suspect their dog(s) is in season or pregnant.

Waggy Walkies reserves the right to refuse admission if these criteria are not met and no refund will be given in the event of a walk being cancelled or terminated early due to lack of prior notice from the client.

The client agrees that if their pet(s) causes harm to either an animal or person, including any representative of Waggy Walkies and this results in injury to either the animal or person, they will be responsible for any expense incurred as a result. This includes but is not limited to veterinary fees incurred as a result.

Waggy Walkies are committed to putting the safety of the client’s dog(s) first. In the event of dangerous or hazardous weather, such as extreme heat or snow, Waggy Walkies reserves the right to cancel or terminate walks early. Prior notice will be given to the client if the weather is deemed dangerous and a decision will be made as to whether the walk will commence or not. It is the client’s responsibility to leave out a towel in order to dry the dog(s) as much as possible upon return from a walk, if necessary. Walks may be cut short by no more than 15 minutes to towel the dog(s) down to ensure they are dry and comfortable upon their return. Waggy Walkies can not be held liable for any soiling, mess, or damage caused to the client’s property by the client’s pet(s).

Clients agree to an introductory meeting to allow both or individual representatives from Waggy Walkies to meet their pet(s) and discuss all aspects of care. This meeting will take place at the client's home. This meeting is provided free of charge. Requested changes in dates/times for the service to be provided must be communicated to the Waggy Walkies as soon as possible in order to discuss alternative arrangements.

Waggy Walkies have chosen not to put a restriction on the age of pets they accept, therefore, you (the client) accept that should your elderly pet take ill or pass away (this includes being euthanised on veterinary advice) whilst in the care of Waggy Walkies, you (the client) agrees and accepts that every possible care for the welfare of your pet was taken by Waggy Walkies and therefore you will not hold Waggy Walkies responsible for the final outcome. Any costs incurred in relation to this, be it veterinary fees or any others will be the sole responsibility of the client. These costs should be paid to the relevant party (on occasions, this may be Waggy Walkies) and settled in full the same day. If an emergency arises, Waggy Walkies will make every effort to contact the client or nominated emergency contact (as disclosed in Section 2). Where time is of the essence, the client authorises Waggy Walkies to seek veterinary attention at the nearest veterinary practice and authorises the necessary treatment recommended by the veterinarian - this may include euthanasia should the veterinarian feel this is the necessary and required course of action to follow. The client agrees to reimburse Waggy Walkies in full, for all treatment costs carried out by the veterinarian. The client accepts that during group walks, injuries may be sustained from play, in which case if necessary Waggy Walkies will seek appropriate medical care for the dog(s).

Unless otherwise agreed, the client’s dog(s) will be exercised wearing either a collar and lead or a harness, collar and lead. Where a client is happy that their dog(s) is allowed to run free off the lead, they must be willing to sign the Off The Lead Disclaimer within the Dog Walking Contract, under which the client agrees to accept full responsibility for any accident, injury or loss, caused, by or to their dog(s). It remains under the discretion of Waggy Walkies to allow the client’s dog(s) off the lead. It is the client’s responsibility to provide the required walking accessories for their dog(s) such as a collar and lead. The client must also ensure their dog(s) wears an accurate and up-to-date identity tag as per the requirement under The Control of Dogs Order 1992 in addition to a valid and up-to-date microchip. Waggy Walkies reserves the right to refuse walks if appropriate walking accessories are not made available and are not responsible for any damaged, stolen or lost accessories or any other item left with their dog(s).

In the event of any serious accident or illness occurring to any member of Waggy Walkies, the client accepts, where possible, alternative cover will be arranged for their pet(s), which may include a shortened or change of service. Any alternative cover arranged will be discussed with the client, wherever possible. Please be aware however if alternative emergency cover cannot be put in place, Waggy Walkies may have no alternative but to cancel the booking; in which case a refund will be issued to the client.

When a period of more than one month elapses between a booking confirmation and the commencement of your chosen service, the client must ensure that Waggy Walkies are informed of any changes to their pet’s health, routine or care plan. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure, where applicable, that all pets are kept up to date with vaccinations (dogs must be vaccinated against kennel cough), worming and also treated regularly for fleas/ticks. The client accepts that even though their dog(s) is vaccinated, it can still be possible to contract diseases, illnesses and parasites, therefore Waggy Walkies can not be held responsible. Waggy Walkies reserves the right to refuse services if the client’s dog(s) looks visibly ill.

The client agrees to ensure their dog has not eaten in the hour before pick up by Waggy Walkies to allow sufficient time to digest food before exercise and play. Failure to do so may result in the potentially life-threatening condition named Bloat (gastric torsion).

Waggy Walkies adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation 2018, therefore your information and data will be stored accurately, securely and only for the purpose of the service.

Waggy Walkies use social media as a form of advertising their business, therefore you, (the client) confirm you have no objections to this, nor have you any objections to photographs of your pet(s) being taken and used for social media and advertising purposes. If you do not wish for your pet(s) photograph or information to be displayed on social media, you may opt out by notifying us.

The client authorises and agrees to any existing signed contracts being valid approval for all future services booked, thus allowing Waggy Walkies to accept all future bookings without additional signed contracts or Terms and Conditions. A copy of these Terms and Conditions will be sent digitally to the client or a paper copy can be requested. By signing the Service Agreement which is located under Section 8 of the Dog Walking Contract, you (the client) is confirming you have read, fully understood and agree to the above Terms and Conditions.
